(Open to Pam)
Jim finished as much as he could with his work and left an hour and a half early from work--clearing it with Michael first, of course.
"Just because you're going to see your girlfriend doesn't mean you can leave early, Jim," Dwight said as Jim was packing his things up.
"Oh, really? Interesting," Jim said. "Okay, have a good weekend everyone," he called out to the office workers.
"Michael!" Dwight said as he got up from his desk to go to Michael's office. Jim smiled and left, waving to his sister.
"I'll call you when I get there, ok? You'll be the first one I call afterward," Jim said to Jen. It was true. Jim Halpert was finally going to  offically propose to his girlfriend of almost a year, Pamela Beesley.

He carefully rushed to New York, to Pam's apartment, found the hide-away key she made specially for him, and opened the apartment door. "Wow." He said to himself. This was exactly how her old apartment was. A bit messy.  He dropped his things onto her bed, then went back downstairs to get the rest of his things.

Jim only had about a half hour to set up everything. He called out for some pizza, and the entire time he was on the phone, Pam's neighbor started pounding on the wall. Then, he carefully put up little Christmas lights around the apartment, and some candles--not enough to make the smoke detector to go off, though. He then took the bouquets of flowers he bought on the way up and put them anywhere he could find a place. After which he took two dozen roses, tore off the pedals and put them on the bed (which he cleared off) and also on the floor in the entry way. Now all he had to do was wait semi-patiently.
pamela_beesly on July 15th, 2008 01:10 pm (UTC)
Pam had had a long day. She was waiting to see Jim, which had made the seconds tick by slower while she was in her classes. In her last class of the day, she must've looked at the clock a thousand times, each time silently willing it to speed up. Each time, the time had only changed by a few seconds or a minute at most. She stared at her professor, trying to will him to dismiss the class early, but apparently he didn't have telepathy, and kept droning on. She tried to concentrate on her class, but it was almost impossible because of how excited she was. She doodled for a moment, and at alternating times, daydreamed.

After about three years of waiting, the class ended. She jumped out of her seat and ran down the stairs, a broad smile on her face. She tried to walk calmly back to her apartment, but she wasn't very effective. She was grinning like an idiot the entire way.

She entered her building and took the stairs two at a time. Reaching her landing, she quickly checked the light fixture to make sure that the extra key was not still in there. It wasn't. Her heart began to pound. She opened the door quickly, and noticed some small roundish things swirl on her floor from the momentum of the door. Looking around, she noticed the flowers, the christmas lights, the candles...and Jim. Her bag landed with a thud on her floor, and her neighbor thumped the wall. She didn't even bother closing the door, she ran across her apartment and jumped onto Jim. "Jim!!!!"

Laughing, he kept holding Pam right where they were--on the bed. She 'accidently' pushed them both over. "I have something for you," Jim said softly, before kissing her. There was a big box in the corner of the room, covered in tissue paper. In that box was a smaller box, and in that box was an even smaller box, so on and so forth until there was a small box that fit in the palm of her hand. "Do you want to open it? Because, it might hurt my feelings if you don't." He smiled.
pamela_beesly on July 15th, 2008 04:41 pm (UTC)
Pam kissed Jim with more intensity than she thought she was capable of. Pulling away, she smiled and looked at the huge box that Jim had mentioned. She was a bit puzzled by the box, and she swept a stray strand of hair behind her ear before getting up and moving over to it, kneeling at it's side. "Jim, you didn't have to get me anything," she laughed, playfully shoving his knee. She opened the box and was even more confused when she got to the second box inside. She raised an eyebrow, looking at Jim questioningly.

She kept opening box after box, each one getting smaller, and she was getting more confused. Finally, she arrived at the last box, a tiny one that fit in her hand. She looked at Jim questioningly, her heart pounding. She opened the box.

Sitting there was a perfect diamond ring. The hand holding the box began to shake, and it dropped to her lap. Her other hand flew to cover her mouth, and she gasped audibly. She looked up at Jim once again, the tears welling in her eyes. She didn't think that she could stand up, even if she wanted to.

He watched her open the boxes, smiling partly at himself for this brilliant idea he took from a movie they watched together. When she turned around, all he could do was smile. Suddenly realizing it was his turn to talk now, he stood up, took her hand in his, and got down on one knee. "Pamela Morgan Beesley, this isn't a prank." He smiled. "I love you, and I can't wait to spend the rest of my life waking up next to you. Will you marry me?"

Jim was elated! How could he not be? He kissed her in return, hugging her close to his body. Almost forgetting about the ring, he, too, looked down at her new ring. "No, you aren't on candid camera. Although, that might have been good to laugh at later."

Smiling, he picked it up, as well as her left hand, and slide the ring on her ring finger. "Now it's official," he smiled, before kissing her again. "I love you, Pam."

((OOC: I don't know what I just did. Now they're out of order. Oh well))

It felt really nice to be in Jim's arms, and it was something that Pam had missed while they were separated. She relished the feeling while it lasted, embracing Jim and inhaling his scent. When he slipped the ring on her finger, she smiled and looked at it for a while. "I love you too, Jim." She kissed him again.

"Well, I think that just about topped any plans that I might have had for us tonight. What's for dinner, Mr. Halpert?"
James "Jim" Halpertprankster_jim on July 17th, 2008 03:37 am (UTC)
((OOC: lol. *shrugs* no biggie. :D))

He didn't want to let her go. Ever. So, he leaned back on her bed, pulling her back with him. He laughed softly as they hit the bed. "Well, future Mrs Halpert--" he grinned widely at the thought of it, "--I called for a pizza before you showed up. It should be here soon. And we've got to do something about your neighbor." He pointed to the wall Pam shared with her anal retentive next door neighbor. Jim brought his hand back over to Pam, gently stroking her hair.
pamela_beesly on July 17th, 2008 03:46 am (UTC)
Pam laughed as Jim pulled her down onto the bed, smiling so hard that her cheeks hurt. She loved the thought of being Mrs. Halpert someday. She looked at her wall for a moment. "I know...he's really kind of annoying sometimes. What do you suggest we do? He's something of a hermit, he's never answered the door when anyone has knocked. We could...turn the radio all the way up and watch as the police descend on us..." Pam grinned slyly. She'd like nothing more than to make him stop banging on the wall.

She laid her head down on Jim's chest, sighing, and relaxing as he stroked her hair. "Pizza sounds really good..."She murmured. She stroked his chest through his shirt. "How was the drive over? You didn't kill anyone, did you? I won't be a jailbird's wife, you know..."
James "Jim" Halpert: laughingprankster_jim on July 17th, 2008 05:09 pm (UTC)
Jim didn't want to let go of Pam. Ever. "Well, I haven't really thought of a solution for him. But I did bring the fax machine I told you about. As well as Dwight's work stationery. And Andy's." An evil smile crossed his face for a moment. "I'm sure we'll figure something out, though." He kissed her forehead.

"The drive was normally. Busy, packed and annoying. But luckily, I got here with perfect timing. And I didn't kill anyone. That I know of." Just then, the pizza guy knocked on the door. Sighing, he reluctantly got up to pay the guy. "Thanks man," he said exchanging the money for the pizza. Jim put the pizza on her table--he already set it for dinner--and then went back over to Pam. Bending over her body, he kissed her lightly. "Dinner time, my future wife." He smiled again.
pamela_beesly on July 17th, 2008 05:44 pm (UTC)
Pam smiled wickedly when Jim mentioned the fax machine. She looked up at his face, and he was doing the same. "You brought Andy's stationary, too?? Awesome! Hmmm...what could we do with that..." She thought for a moment, doodling with her finger on his chest. "Well, you never really stopped sending Dwight those faxes, did you? Because we could do that to both of them...or have Andy fax something to Dwight from the future...oh, the possibilities!" She giggled and nuzzled into Jim.

Pam groaned as Jim got up to collect the pizza. She hadn't wanted to be even fifteen feet away from him. She lay on the bed, looking up at the cieling, and stealing glances in Jim's direction. She felt that she genuinely was the luckiest person in the world. She noticed that he had set the table, and it put a smile on her face. She sighed contentedly.

She giggled as his face appeared above hers and he kissed her. She wrapped her arms around his neck again and almost wrestled him back down onto the bed, but decided she was, indeed, hungry. "What kind of pizza is it?" She asked.

Getting up and sitting down at the table, the smile would not leave her face. In fact, it grew bigger when she looked at Jim. "You know what this means, don't you future husband of mine?"
James "Jim" Halpertprankster_jim on July 17th, 2008 06:33 pm (UTC)
"Pepperoni," he answered. Then, he kissed her, putting his hand behind her head. What a great place to be. With Pam.

"It means we'll have extremely beautiful kids." He laughed. "And that you're moving into my apartment with me. Luckily, my roommate already likes you." He smiled, then remembered something. He hit his forehed. "I need to call Jen and tell her." Jim looked over at Pam, not wanting to take any of his attention off of her. "I'll call her later."
pamela_beesly on July 17th, 2008 07:21 pm (UTC)
"Mmm...Pepperoni." Pam loved pepperoni. She sat down at the table and grabbed a slice. "How did you know?"

Pam smiled a huge, toothy grin. "You stole the words right out of my mouth, Halpert! And you know what? We could both call her and tell her the good news, if you'd like. I haven't talked to her in a while. Speaking of..." She got up from her seat, setting down her slice and wiping her mouth. She moved over to Jim, hugged him and kissed his cheek. She moved close to his ear and whispered, "I've got a surprise for you, too."
James "Jim" Halpert: grinprankster_jim on July 17th, 2008 08:39 pm (UTC)
He smiled at Pam. "It's what you always want me to order whenever we get pizza. I kinda just put two and two together, Pam."

Jim took a bite of his slice and just watched Pam get excited. It couldn't get much better than this. Granted, if they were to call the police on her neighbor, then it would definitely make for a promising night. "Okay, but if your surprise beats mine, we might have a problem," Jim joked.
pamela_beesly on July 17th, 2008 09:03 pm (UTC)
Pam grinned again (God, she was doing alot of that lately), "Well yes...but how could you be sure that my taste hadn't changed? What if what I really wanted was mushroom? I mean, it *has* been a week since we last saw each other, Jim. Lots of things can change in a week." She stuck her tongue out at him, teasing.

Pam knelt down, resting her arms on Jim's lap. "The only surprise that I can think of that would beat the one that you've just given me hasn't happened yet. After dinner, I'll show you your surprise." Pam got up and kissed Jim's cheek again, and then his forehead. She couldn't get enough of him.

Pam sat back down and took another bite of her pizza. She cocked her head to the side, her brow becoming furrowed. "Do you hear that?"
James "Jim" Halpertprankster_jim on July 18th, 2008 04:54 pm (UTC)
"You're so right. What on earth was I thinking?" Jim shrugged his shoulders.

"If you keep kissing me, I'm not going to leave," he said--only partly joking.

"The constant pounding on the wall? Yeah, I hear it." Jim took another bite, trying to forget all about the neighbor. "Is there another noise you've been able to distinguish?"
pamela_beesly on July 18th, 2008 05:12 pm (UTC)
Pam smiled, and kissed Jim again. "Then I'll just have to keep kissing you, won't I? Either you don't leave, or you have to take me back to Scranton permanently attached." She was also only partly joking. She had been thinking about when he was going to go back, and she realized that she didn't want to picture it. It was too depressing.

"No, no...not the pounding. There's a rustling up against the wall. I wonder what that is." She looked over at the wall that she shared with her neighbor. Something had changed, and he wasn't banging as much. She walked over to the wall and put her ear against it, an odd look on her face. She whispered, "He's up to something. I just don't know what yet."

She hadn't noticed yet the small hole that had been bored above her head.
James "Jim" Halpertprankster_jim on July 18th, 2008 05:57 pm (UTC)
"You'll just have to," Jim said, pulling her into his lap and kissing her.

Jim watched her move across the room, a little confused. "Maybe we should send a fax to Dwight and see what he would do." He smiled brightly.
pamela_beesly on July 18th, 2008 06:18 pm (UTC)
Pam grinned mischievously. "That would be a really good idea. Except I have a feeling that I'm going to end up doing whatever comes naturally before I take Dwight's advice." She shrugged, "It's a good prank, and you know how I love those."

She sighed and looked up. Something caught her eye. Squinting and standing on her toes, she realized that it was a tiny microphone. A little frazzled, she motioned Jim over and pointed to it, putting her finger to her lips to tell him to keep quiet for a minute.

"I have a better idea," she whispered, grinning.
James "Jim" Halpertprankster_jim on July 19th, 2008 05:51 pm (UTC)
Jim wasn't sure what to expect when Pam wanted him to join her near the wall. "What is going on?" he whispered. If this was going to be a prank, he was sure it was going to be a great night. Almost all of the pranks Jim and Pam did together worked out better than he could ever imagine. He looked up to where she noticed the microphone and his eyes widened. "Oh my God. What the hell is he planning on doing?" He still whispered, hoping the neighbor wouldn't hear.
pamela_beesly on July 20th, 2008 04:05 am (UTC)
Pam leaned in very close to Jim's ear, cupped her hands around it, and whispered, "I think our friend has been trying to spy on us. I think we should give him something to spy about. Follow my lead, okay?" She stepped back a moment, looking him in the eye and grinning. God, she loved this man. After he nodded, she kissed him.

"So what ever happened to that girl? The one who was threatening the family. I heard she disappeared. You wouldn't know anything about that, would you?"
James "Jim" Halpertprankster_jim on July 20th, 2008 06:08 am (UTC)
Amazed at the will power of Pam, he leaned against the wall, crossing his arms. "Oh, Dayna?" he asked, a small smile escaping his lips. "I heard she was living in El Paso dealing drugs. But you can't always trust what your mom tells you. Why? Did you hear something about her?"
pamela_beesly on July 20th, 2008 01:05 pm (UTC)
Pam stood next to Jim, then leaned her body against his, smiling. "Dealing drugs? I hadn't heard that. I heard that you were involved in getting rid of her. Something involving cement and the East River with the drugs as a cover story." Pam started acting coyly, smiling seductively. "Is that what you're going to do with me? Is that what your plan was Jim? "

"You know what? I'm tired of going by code names, Dwight. If you're going to kill me, I want to use your real name."
James "Jim" Halpert: laughingprankster_jim on July 22nd, 2008 07:42 pm (UTC)
Jim held back his laughter as he wrapped his arms around Pam. "Where did you hear that? You weren't supposed to know," he said, shocked. "I wasn't going to dispose of you until next week, when the plan was officially set in motion."

"Fine, then I'll do the same, Andy. I should tell you, I'll let you go if you have good behavior."
pamela_beesly on July 26th, 2008 01:13 am (UTC)
Pam grinned and kissed Jim lightly on the lips. When he called her "Andy", though, she raised an eyebrow, then decided to go along with it.

"I got that sex change a while ago, Mr. Schrute. You weren't supposed to know about it. At least...not until after you disposed of me. It's okay though...I had plans to kill you, too."

She laughed silently, covering her mouth and trying to stay quiet. If her neighbor was calling the FBI at the moment, then Dwight and Andy were going to have a hell of a weekend.

"What would you like to do about this predicament? We'd have to kill any possible witnesses to our agreement, by the way."
pamela_beesly on August 3rd, 2008 04:49 pm (UTC)
After a pause, she put her finger to her lips, looking into Jim's eyes mischievously. She tiptoed over to a shelf, where a little air horn sat. She picked it up and tiptoed back to Jim, trying to suppress a giggle. She whispered, "Thank Michael for Beach Day for me, that's the only reason why I have this. And also to scare Eugene when he gets too close." She motioned for Jim to cover his ears. once he complied, she raised the nozzle to the microphone and pressed the button.
James "Jim" Halpertprankster_jim on August 6th, 2008 11:17 pm (UTC)
After Pam let go of the button the released a sound anyone within a five mile radius could have heard, Jim's hands dropped from his ears and he started laughing loudly. He quickly took Pam back into his arms and he kissed her. Jim took the air horn away from her, tossed it onto her bed, and returned his hands to her body. "I love you," he said before kissing her again.
pamela_beesly on August 7th, 2008 12:48 am (UTC)
Pam smiled in satisfaction when she heard a loud thud, which she knew was probably her neighbor falling over or dropping dead from a heart attack. She heard him yelling, so she decided it wasn't a heart attack. She started laughing quietly, leaning against Jim's shoulder, then louder until she was hunched over on her knees, laughing. She stood up and kissed Jim as he was kissing her. She loved that feeling. She watched him toss the air horn to the bed and bit her bottom lip, wrapping her arms around him and smiling. "I love you more," She teased, kissing him. "And this has been the best day of my life."
pamela_beesly on July 17th, 2008 03:03 am (UTC)
Pam was shocked. Jim had, indeed, managed to kick her butt. She looked at Jim, this man whom she loved very much, and the tears spilled down her cheeks. Still shaking, she nodded. Her nods became more vigorous until she once again threw her arms around Jim, saying, "Yes. Yes! Oh my God, Yes!"

She covered his face with kisses, smiling and crying simultaneously. Finally, she laid her head on his shoulder, whispering, "Yes..."

After a pause, she lifted her face and looked Jim in the eyes. "I'm not on Candid Camera, am I? Because that would just be mean," She laughed and wiped her eyes. He'd said it wasn't a prank, and she believed it wasn't. She looked at the ring still in her lap and kissed Jim again. Her neighbor resumed pounding on the wall with a new enthusiasm. Maybe he was afraid something louder would happen, especially with Pam's door still open. She wasn't even thinking about the door or her neighbor at that point, in fact the only person in the world at that moment was Jim Halpert.
